Operational Auditor

A vacancy exists for the position of Operational Auditor within United Rental Group Limited. This is primarily a field-based role, based in the North of the UK. Our HO is based in Chesterfield.

About the role

There are three basic elements that underpin the role of an Operational Auditor at United Rental Group
▪ Protect our business interests.
▪ Protect our assets.
▪ Identify potential risks to our business.

Protecting our business

Routine auditing of our customer network to ensure that vehicles are still owned and operated within our contractual terms, and that any issues or concerns raised by suppliers are dealt with appropriately and fairly.

Protecting our assets

Checking documents and physical inspections of vehicles to ensure that assets are being properly utilised, maintained and protected by our customers.

Identifying Potential risks

Customer audit visits will also require checking that good operational processes are in place, sharing best practices where appropriate, and managing any concerns that could impact our vehicles or our relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.

About you / skills required

• Operational experience of the Rental, Contract Hire or leasing industry.
• Good knowledge of vehicle rental types (both car & commercial) and their varied uses is a requirement, together with appreciation of customer facing rental operations.
• Experience of vehicle sourcing, funding and financing.
• Self-disciplined, self-motivated, tenacious, and able to show and demonstrate how you can “scratch beneath the surface” to find facts.
• Able to prioritise workload effectively and be able to work on your own with minimum supervision together with excellent organisation and territory management skills.
• Confident in being able to handle and overcome objections and provide solutions to complex and confrontational situations.
• Computer literate in MS Word Excel & PowerPoint advantageous.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation & communication skills at all Business levels.

• This role involves working a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, usually between the hours of 8.00am and 17.30pm with one hour for lunch. Flexibility on this may be required periodically.
